Missile Command ESP

Missile Command is a video game developed by Atari Inc., released in April 1980 on arcade machines. It is a still shoot 'em up set in a nuclear war. The player must defend target cities from ballistic missiles using ground-to-air batteries. Recognized for the quality of its gameplay, the game was a huge commercial success with 20,000 units sold, and largely contributed to Atari's excellent financial results in 1980. It was ported to the Atari 2600 in 1981, and constitutes one of the best sellers of this console. Missile Command is considered a classic from the golden age of arcade games, and has spawned numerous clones and remakes. It is also seen as an example of the Cold War manifesting in popular culture, crystallizing era anxieties of nuclear holocaust.
